Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 cups peeled cored and thinly sliced tart apples (about 5 large)
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Blueberry Scones In A Campfire

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup shortening, at room temp
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons butter buds or 2 teaspoons molly mcbutter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • clarified butter
  • flour
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Recipe

  • 1 fit food processor with steel blade.
  • 2 add flour, sugar, dry milk, baking powder, butter buds and salts; pulse three or four times to blend ingredients.
  • 3 add shortening; pulse five or six times until shortening is "cut in" to dry ingredients; mixture will resemble cornmeal consistency.
  • 4 divide mixture into two batches and store in plastic bag in fridge until your trip.

  • 2 (9 inch) deep dish pie shells
  • 1/2 cup sugar, plus
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 2 lbs granny smith apples, peeled and cored
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 large egg, beaten with

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 400°f.
  • 2 fit 1 pie crust to bottom and up side of 9 inch deep dish pie plate. pick bottom of crust with fork and refrigerate while preparing filling.
  • 3 in a small bowl, blend 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar, the light brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and cloves. set aside.

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2/3 cup sugar

  • 2 dried pasilla chili peppers, stems and seeds removed and torn into strips
  • 2 cups pitted fresh california bing cherries (slightly heaping)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion

  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 lb butter, softened
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup nuts, chopped fine (i use pecans or walnuts)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

  • 1 cut butter into flour.
  • 2 add softened ice cream and work into the mixture with hands.
  • 3 add more flour if necessary to make the dough easy to handle.
  • 4 wrap and refrigerate overnight. the dough will become hard.
  • 5 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 6 combine sugar, nuts, and cinnamon. sprinkle some of the mixture on a pastry cloth or a smooth dish towel. on top of the sugar mixture, roll out a small piece of dough to 1/8-inch thickness to form a 2-1/2-inch circle.
  • 7 cut into pie-shaped pieces and roll each from the outside to the center. repeat until all the dough and sugar mixture are used up.
  • 8 bake on a cookie sheet 20 minutes or until browned.

  • 2 cups granny smith apples, peeled, chopped (about 2 medium)
  • 2 cups cranberries, coarsely chopped
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen dry pack raspberries, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • half-and-half or milk

  • 1 heat oven to 375°f.

  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, combine strawberries and amaretto.
  • 2 cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 3 drain strawberries.
  • 4 reserve 1 cup strawberry slices.
  • 5 in a blender, combine remaining strawberries, yogurt, orange juice, equal, milk, honey, cinnamon and vanilla extract.

  • 4 large golden delicious apples (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup walnuts or 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 8 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 peel, core, and slice apples into 1/4-inch slices. place apples in a large mixing bowl and toss with sugar, lemon juice, flour, and cinnamon. pour into a lightly greased 9 by 13-inch baking dish, and spread out into an even layer. set aside.

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, slightly softened

Recipe

  • 1 combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, 1/4 tsp salt, and 3/4 cups sugar in a large bowl; stir well. make a well in the center of the flour mixture.

Brown Butter Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins

  • 3 1/2 ounces unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces all-purpose flour
  • 4 ounces whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries (pop these in the freezer about 10 minutes before you begin so they won't stain the batter when foldi)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 put rack in upper third of oven and crank it up to 375°f line a 12 muffin tin with paper cups or grease them.
  • 2 in a small saucepan over medium high, melt the butter. cook it down until the colour begins to change. watch carefully and remove when it darkens but is not burnt.

  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 12 pre made tart shells

Recipe

  • 1 pre heat oven to 375.
  • 2 peel and dice apples, put into bowl.
  • 3 mix next 3 ingredients together and pour over apples and stir well.
  • 4 fill uncooked tart shells high and place on cookie sheet.
  • 5 combine next 3 ingredients and crumble over filled tarts.
  • 6 sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
  • 7 bake for 20-25 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • 8 remove and place on wire racks
  • 9 serve with your choice of ice cream, cheese or whipping cream or just eat as is -- .

Aunt Stella's Ice Box Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups fat (or 3/4 cup butter or margarine & 3/4 cup crisco)
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups nuts, chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • 4 cups flour

Recipe

  • 1 beat fat and sugars until creamy; add eggs and vanilla, and beat until well mixed.

  • 3 divide dough into two long rolls, and place in a narrow pan in the freezer to chill overnight.

  • 1 core and halve the pears.

Blueberry Soup

  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 4 cups cold water
  • grated lemon rind
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Recipe

  • 1 wash and remove stems from blueberries.
  • 2 place in pot with 4 cups cold water, lemon rind, cinnamon stick, allspice, sugar and salt.
  • 3 cook until berries burst and begin to soften.
  • 4 make a thick paste of cornstarch and some cold water. add to mixture, cooking until it thickens slightly. allow to cool.
  • 5 before serving, put six tablespoons sour cream in blender with some of liquid from soup and some of the berries. blend until frothy. divide into serving bowls and add soup. stir so that the sour cream mixture will blend with soup. refrigerate.

Best Ever Hot Cocoa Mix

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, fresh grated if possible
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla (or 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. apple cider, gives a lovely flavor to the dough if you have it around!)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 cut the squash length-wise, discarding the cores with the seeds. you just want the flesh and skin. this is where the flavor is. the seeds are mainly water.
  • 2 heat the onions in a saucepan until just soft.
  • 3 add the squash and season with salt. heat for another 5 minutes.
  • 4 add just enough water to cover the vegetables and the cinnamon stick.
  • 5 bring to a simmer and cook until the squash are tender.

  • 7 chill the soup in the refrigerator for 30-minutes to an hour.

  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, cold
  • 3 -4 apples, cored, peeled, and sliced thinly (i use granny smiths)
  • 1 (12 ounce) package cranberries, fresh premium (i like ocean spray)
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans yams or 2 (15 ounce) cans sweet potatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

  • 1 in a small bowl combine first 3 ingredients with a mixer, just until butter has been integrated but not softened too much. divide in half, setting one half aside. in a 13"x9" pan sprinkle 1/2 brown sugar mixture on the bottom, place the sliced apples evenly over this, then place the cranberries over the apples. open and drain the yams or sweet potatoes, and place over the cranberries. sprinkle the second half of the brown sugar mixture over the yams or sweet potatoes. place in the oven at 325 degrees f, and cook for about 20 - 30 minutes. remove from oven and cover with marshmellows. return to oven and allow to cook until marshmellows are melted and a light toasty brown on top, about 15 to 20 minutes. remove from oven and allow to cool slightly for about 10 minutes before serving. prepare your sweet tooth, cuz this is to die for.

Blueberry Scones

  • 250 g bread flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 50 g unsalted butter, chilled, diced, plus extra to serve
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 175 ml buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 200°c (400f). dust a large baking tray with flour.
  • 2 sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a large bowl and mix well. add the butter and use your fingertips to rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. stir in the sugar, blueberries and buttermilk, and mix to form a dough.
  • 3 form the dough into a 20cm round. mark 8 wedges in the dough with a knife. bake for 20-25 minutes or until light golden. allow to cool, cut the scones into 8, then split in half and spread with butter.

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 90 g butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 bananas, very ripe mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups nuts (i use walnuts and sunflower seeds)

Recipe

  • 1 sift together salt, flour and spices.
  • 2 cream butter and sugar, then add the eggs one at a time, beating well.
  • 3 beat mixture until light and fluffy.
  • 4 add sifted flour and spices and bananas to creamed mixture, combining lightly.
  • 5 fold in nuts.
  • 6 turn the mixture into a well greased loaf tin bake in a moderate oven (180c-200c) for 50 to 60 minutes.
  • 7 cool in the tin.
  • 8 can be iced with a cream cheese frosting or lemon icing.

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 -3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) or 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
  • chocolate chips, for garnish
  • chopped nuts (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 in a bowl combine flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 in a small pot melt butter over low heat.
  • 5 add chocolate chips and cocoa while stirring constantly.
  • 6 remove from heat when chocolate chips are just about melted.
  • 7 in a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
  • 8 add in flour mixture and chocolate mixture alternately stirring just until blended.
  • 9 do not overmix.
  • 10 spoon into well greased muffin tin or paper cups that have been lightly sprayed with oil.
  • 11 (muffins tend to stick).
  • 12 sprinkle muffins with chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  • 13 bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
