Apple Crumble (award Winning)

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • butter-flavored cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, cold
  • 1/4 cup almonds, slivered

Recipe

  • 1 cut phyllo in half, spritz with butter-flavored spray.
  • 2 layer phyllo with sprayed side up, in a greased 8 inch square baking dish.
  • 3 in a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, ginger, and cinnamon.
