Apple Crumble Cream Cheese Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 8 cups apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (golden delicious, northern spy, or cortland)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 (300 ml) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (225 g) package cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 crust:.
  • 2 pulse all ingredients together except butter in food processor. add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. reserve 1 1/2 cups for topping. press remaining filling into parchment lined 13x9 inch baking pan. bake in preheated 350f oven for 10 minutes.
  • 3 filling:
  • 4 toss apples with lemon juice. combine with remaining apple layer ingredients in large saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. reduce heat to medium low and cook until apples are tender (about 5 minutes). cool completely.
  • 5 cream cheese layer: beat all ingredients together with electric mixer or food processor until smooth.
  • 6 asssemble and bake:
  • 7 pour cream cheese layer over pre-baked crust. top with apples. sprinkle reserved crust ingredients over apples and bake for 40 minutes or until set. cool. cut into squares.
