Cherry Dumplings

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • milk
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 cups biscuit mix

Recipe

  • 1 stir together water, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves.
  • 2 stir in pie filling and bring to a boil in a 10 inch skillet.
  • 3 add enough milk to the egg to make 1/2 cup.
  • 4 stir into the biscuit mix to make a soft dough.
  • 5 drop dough by tablespoons on top of the boiling fruit.
  • 6 simmer on low heat about 10 minutes more.
  • 7 serve warm (scoop fruit over top dumplings in a bowl). serve with cream if desired.
