Apple Crumb Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) pastry for single-crust pie
  • 6 cups chopped peeled tart apples (about 6 medium apples)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold butter or 1/4 cup margarine

Recipe

  • 1 line a 9 in pie plate with pastry; flute edges.
  • 2 in a bowl, combine the apples, butter, sour cream, lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • 3 spoon into pastry shell.
  • 4 for topping, combine flour, and sugar in a bowl, cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  • 5 sprinkle over filling.
  • 6 bake at 375°f for 45-50 min or until the filling is bubbly and the apples are tender. cool on wire rack.
