Basic Oatmeal

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup applesauce

Recipe

  • 1 place 3/4 cup of the rolled oats into a blender and process until a flour.
  • 2 add all rolled oats, water, cinnamon and vanilla to pan and bring to a boil.
  • 3 reduce heat and cook for 3 minutes.
  • 4 add honey and applesauce and stir for 1 minute.
  • 5 add to bowls.
  • 6 enjoy.

Berlin Buns

Total Time: 1 hr 18 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 15 mins Cook Time: 3 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 ounce yeast
  • 1 1/4 ounces butter
  • 3 1/2 ounces milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg
  • jam
  • cinnamon sugar (or powdered sugar)
  • oil (for deep frying)

Recipe

  • 1 cream half the sugar and yeast in a bowl and let stand for 5 minutes in a warm place.
  • 2 sift flour and salt into a bowl with remaining sugar.
  • 3 melt butter, warm the milk and egg.
  • 4 make a well in the center of the flour and add the yeast, eggs, milk and butter.
  • 5 work the mix until all are combined evenly.
  • 6 pat into a round. cover with damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place.
  • 7 turn onto a floured board and pull off 1.75 oz pieces and roll into balls.
  • 8 leave balls for 10-15 minutes.
  • 9 flatten balls with your hand.
  • 10 brush rounds with lightly beaten egg whites and place a spoonful of jam in the middle and seal.
  • 11 place on a tray and cover with tea towel and leave in a warm place to rise again.
  • 12 deep fry a few at a time in hot oil until golden brown. remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper and dust with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 small soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 medium rome apples
  • 2 sheets phyllo dough, fresh or frozen thawed

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 combine first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • 3 place over low heat, and cook until smooth, stirring constantly.
  • 4 remove from heat; set aside.
  • 5 core apples, cutting to, but not through, the bottom of each apple.

  • 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup corn syrup

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 in a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. add cinnamon, cloves and salt; stir in corn syrup.

Caramel Apple Egg Rolls (excellent For Christmas)

Ingredients

  • 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and small dice
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 vanilla extract (good quality)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon candied ginger, diced
  • 12 egg roll wraps (or lumpia wrappers)
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp. cold water
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 to prepare the filling, toss the apples with about 1 tablespoons of the sugar and set aside. place the remaining sugar in a large saute pan over high heat and cook, without stirring, until the sugar starts to caramelize and turns golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. add the apples and toss to coat with the sugar.
  • 2 remove the pan from the heat, add the bourbon, and then place it back over the heat. (the bourbon can flame up, so be so very careful.) bring the bourbon to a boil, add the butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves, and cook over high heat until the apples are tender, about 4 minutes. transfer the mixture to a large bowl and let cool until tepid (lukewarm). add the candied ginger and mix well.
  • 3 to prepare the eggrolls, place 1 eggroll wrapper(or use lumpia wrappers)on a flat surface, with a corner pointing toward you (as you look down on it, the wrapper should be a diamond shape). place a heaping tablespoon of the filling on the wrapper about 1/2-inch from the corner closest to you, and then fold the corner over the filling. fold the side corners over the filling, then roll tehn roll to the opposite corner to form a cylinder. brush the edge of the wrapper with the beaten egg to seal. continue with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • 4 heat about 4 inches of vegetable oil in a large saucepan over high heat until it reaches 350°f (you can check the temperature with a candy thermometer, or place a piece of bread in the oil; if it turns brown in about 40 seconds the oil should be at about 350°f.) add as many eggrolls as will fit without overcrowding, and fry until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. drain on paper towels, or on brown paper bags. let cool for 3 to 4 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar. continue with the remaining eggrolls. serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream.

Chewy Honey Almond Energy Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup hulled sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan, melt honey and almond butter, mixing well until it is smooth and creamy. do not boil. remove from heat.
  • 2 add the rest of the ingredients to the saucepan, mixing well to coat everything in honey/almond butter mixture.
  • 3 empty mixture into a 9x9 pan lined with parchment paper.
  • 4 place a sheet of parchment paper on top and press the mixture down into the pan, creating a smooth layer.
  • 5 when the mixture has cooled, place the pan in the fridge for an hour.
  • 6 remove the top layer of parchment paper and cut into 12 bars.
  • 7 wrap each bar individually and store in the fridge.

  • 1 large pear, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup fruit nectar (use pear, just had to post this way for zaar specifications)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup uncooked bulgur
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 ounces low-fat vanilla yogurt (1/2 cup) or 4 ounces soy yogurt

  • 1 place the bulgur, pear nectar, 1 cup of water, bulgur, cinnamon nutmeg and salt into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • 2 add the diced pears, mix, and cover pan. reduce heat to a very low flame and simmer until liquid is absorbed and bulgur is tender, about 12-15 minutes.

Appled Chops With Stuffing

  • 6 boneless lamb chops (1" thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (6 ounce) package seasoned stuffing mix

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup ice water
  • 7 large granny smith apples or 7 large pippin apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lemon, juice of
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves

Recipe

  • 1 butter and flour a 9-inch glass pie plate.
  • 2 on a lightly floured surface roll the dough to a 12-inch round about 1/8-inch thick.
  • 3 line the pie plate, being sure to press the dough into the bottom and up the sides without stretching.

  • 1 (1 lb) box firmly packed brown sugar (2.5 cups packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 6 cups quick oats, uncooked
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups raisins

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375.
  • 2 line baking sheets with foil (that way you don't have to clean them!).
  • 3 combine shortening, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  • 4 beat until well blended.
  • 5 in a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and raisins.
  • 6 mix into creamed mixture at low speed just til blended.
  • 7 drop by rounded scoops 2" apart on baking sheet.

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 lamb chops, 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tart apples, peeled,cored and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons pecans (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 175 degrees.
  • 2 place a medium sized dish in the oven to keep warm.
  • 3 heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 4 brush chops lightly with oil and place in hot pan.
  • 5 cook for 5 or 6 minutes (i think it took me longer than that), turning occasionally, until done.
  • 6 transfer to the warm dish, and keep warm in preheated oven.
  • 7 in a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • 8 add butter to skillet and stir in brown sugar mixture and apples.
  • 9 cover and cook until apples are just tender.
  • 10 remove apples with a slotted spoon and arrange on top of chops.
  • 11 keep warm in preheated oven.
  • 12 continue cooking mixture uncovered in skillet until sauce thickens slightly.
  • 13 spoon sauce over apples and chops.
  • 14 sprinkle with pecans.

Chewy Oatmeal Pineapple Stuffs.

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 -3 cups oatmeal
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple in juice
  • 3/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (more if you want it sweeter)
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 10 -20 bing cherries (mashed)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

Recipe

  • 1 mash the cherries very well then set aside.
  • 2 mash pineapple slightly but keep the juice.
  • 3 add coconut oil and brown sugar to the mashed pineapple.
  • 4 in different bowl mix oat meal cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • 5 add the wet to the dry and cook in a 325 oven for 20-25 minutes.

Chili-rubbed Sweet Potato Rounds With Guacamole

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (i use regular here, but use smoked paprika if you want a smoky flavor!)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper (omit if you don&rsquo,t want the heat)
  • 1 large sweet potato, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
  • canola oil
  • 1 -2 cup guacamole

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2 mix spices together for the rub.
  • 3 brush or spray potatoes lightly with oil. sprinkle them with the spice rub, mix well. roast round for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden on the bottoms. flip and roast for another 12-15 minutes.
  • 4 whip up a batch of classic guacamole.
  • 5 serve roasted rounds topped with a dollop of guacamole!

  • 1 roast the chilies under a preheated broiler until the skin is charred. place in a plastic bag, seal well and let stand for 20 minutes. make a slit in the side of each chili and remove the seeds, leaving the stems intact. set aside.
  • 2 brown the meat and onion together in a heavy-based skillet over a medium heat. pour off any extra fat, then add the garlic and sherry and boil down until it has nearly evaporated.

  • 1 get your water boiling in your canning pot, rack tucked inside. boil lids in another, smaller, pot, and remove to dry on a paper towel using tongs. while water is coming to a boil in your big pot with the rack, place prepared apple pulp in another large pot.
  • 2 add pectin and bring to a full, rolling boil. (add 1/2 teaspoon butter to reduce foaming if needed.).
  • 3 meanwhile, get your sugars measured and ready. as soon as apple pulp and pectin are at the boil, add sugars and the 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon all at once.
  • 4 return to boil and keep at the full, rolling boil for one minute.
  • 5 remove from heat and ladle immediately into clean jars. place lids on top, screw on bands, and lower onto rack in your pot of boiling water. cover and boil 10 minutes.

  • 1 mix apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • 2 mix in remaining ingredients below apples.
  • 3 follow directions on phyllo package to keep sheets from drying out.
  • 4 cut phyllo sheets in half lengthwise (not crosswise).
  • 5 working quickly, place one cut sheet of phyllo on damp towel (short end towards you) and brush sparingly with melted butter.
  • 6 sprinkle with 2 teaspoons walnut crumbs.
  • 7 place another half sheet over the first, brush with melted butter.
  • 8 place 1/2 cup of filling on short end of phyllo approximately 2 inches from edge.
  • 9 add some of the juice from the filling as you make each bundle (don't worry if it leaks a little as you roll).
  • 10 fold end over filling, roll once then fold in both sides by one half inch.
  • 11 roll to other end.
  • 12 press side seams and place on a baking sheet which has been sprayed with pam.
  • 13 cover with damp towel.

  • 1 cream shortening, sugar and egg until light and fluffy. sift together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed.

  • splenda sugar substitute
  • chopped pecans
  • sugar free caramel syrup (such as torani or cinnabliss if you have it)
  • 3 drops almond extract
  • 1 1/4 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup splenda sugar substitute
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Recipe

  • 1 dumped apple topping into glass bread loaf dish. add cinnamon, splenda, and chopped pecans. add sugar free caramel syrup and almond extract.
  • 2 dump the crust on top of your apples. i decoratively arranged pecan halves on top and drizzled with cinnabliss caramel sauce on top. bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. cover with aluminum foil and bake for an additional 15-30 minutes. this recipe is best eaten warm. the crust can be somewhat soggy if chilled or cooled. add a scoop of sugar free or low carb ice cream for an ala mode affect.

Applesauce Brandied Raisin Bread

  • 1/3 cup cherry brandy
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon low sodium salt

  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f, then grease & flour one 9 inch loaf pan.
  • 2 soak raisins in brandy 15 minutes.
  • 3 in large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon & cloves, then set aside.
  • 4 in medium bowl, combine applesauce, eggs, brown sugar & oil, mixing well.
  • 5 add raisins & nuts to applesauce mixture & mix well.
  • 6 add fruit mixture to flour mixture & stir only until flour is moistened.
  • 7 pour into greased pan & bake 50-55 minutes.
  • 8 cool in pan 15 minutes before removing loaf of bread to cool completely on wire rack.
