Autumn Apple Buckle

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 2 lbs granny smith apples (peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch dice)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350°. butter and flour a 10-inch springform pan.
