Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 grease or line with paper 12 muffin cups.
- 3 in large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg, set aside.
- 4 in separate large bowl, cream together sugar and shortening.
- 5 add eggs to creamed mixture and mix again.
- 6 alternate adding 1/3 of flour mixture and 1/3 of milk to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
- 7 fill muffin cups 2/3 full.
- 8 bake 20-25 min, until golden.
- 9 remove from pan and set aside.
- 10 coating:.
- 11 melt butter.
- 12 combine cinnamon and sugar.
- 13 dip warm muffins in butter, coating well.
- 14 roll coated muffin in cinnamon and sugar mixure.
