Apple Crumb Topping Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 pie shell
  • 4 large tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup hard butter

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet, sauté sliced apples in butter until crisp tender, about 10 minutes.
  • 2 remove from heat; cool for 10 minutes.
  • 3 combine sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples and mix well to coat.
  • 4 place in unbaked pie shell.
  • 5 mix together flour, oatmeal, brown sugar and salt.

  • 7 place crumb mixture on top of apples and bake at 350°f for 30-35 minutes.
