Basic Granola

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 30
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5 cups quick-cooking oats or 5 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup flax seed
  • 1 cup sliced almonds

Recipe

  • 1 mix together first 7 ingredients (sugar through cinnamon).
  • 2 pour over oats; mix.
  • 3 allow to soak while adding seeds, nuts, dried fruit, etc.
  • 4 mix together and bake in jelly roll pan at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • 5 store in airtight container in refrigerator.
