Caramel Bread Pudding

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 slices day-old bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f. grease a 8- x 8-inch baking dish.
  • 2 place bread cubes in prepared baking dish. combine water and brown sugar and pour over bread.
  • 3 combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread.
  • 4 bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes up clean.
  • 5 serve warm or cold. it's great with ice cream or whipped cream.
