Barberry Pickled Relish

Ingredients
- 1 pint ripe barberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
Recipe
- 1 wash and stem the fruit.
- 2 place into a deep saucepan and add the sugar and the vinegar.
- 3 then add the allspice, cloves and cinnamon.
- 4 bring to a boil and hold there till the berries lose their color.
- 5 remove from heat and allow to cool.
- 6 strain and pour into hot sterile pint jars and seal.
