Bran And Oat Scones

Ingredients
- 1 cup 100% all-bran cereal (like all bran)
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup currants
- 1 1/4 cups plain yogurt
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter
Recipe
- 1 combine cereal, oats, raisins and yogurt. let stand to soften.
- 2 combine flour, sugar, baking powder and soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- 3 cut in margarine until crumbly, then add cereal mixture and stir until just moistened.
- 4 turn onto a floured surface and knead 10 times or until smooth.
- 5 flatten to a 9 inch circle or 2 x 6 inch circles. sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- 6 place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 425 f for 20 minutes, then cut into wedges!
