Churros

Ingredients
- vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Recipe
- 1 heat 1- 1 1/2 inches oil in pan.
- 2 to 360 degrees f.
- 3 heat water margarine and salt to a rolling boil in a 3-quart saucepan.
- 4 stir in flour.
- 5 stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute.
- 6 remove from heat.
- 7 beat eggs add them to saucepan while stirring mixture.
- 8 spoon into a cake decorator's tube with a large star tip.
- 9 squeeze 4 inch strips of dough into hot oil.
- 10 fry 3-4 strips at a time until golden brown, turning once, about 2 minutes each side.
- 11 drain on paper towels.
- 12 mix the sugar and cinnamon (optional).
- 13 roll the churros in the sugar (or cinnamon sugar) mixture or dump the sugar on top of the churros.
