Apple Cranberry Scones

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, chilled
  • 1 apple, peeled cored and shredded
  • 1/2 dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 measure flour, sugar,baking powder,soda,and salt into a large bowl.
  • 2 cut in butter until crumbly.
  • 3 add shredded apple, cranberries and milk.
  • 4 stir to form a soft dough.
  • 5 turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • 6 knead gently 8 to 10 times.
  • 7 pat into two 6 inch circles.
  • 8 brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • 9 cut each circle into six pie-shaped wedges.
  • 10 place onto greased baking sheet.
  • 11 bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, or until browned.
  • 12 serve warm with butter.
