Cinnamon Bread

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 4 tablespoons dry dry buttermilk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 preheat over to 350 degrees.
  • 2 beat together sugar, butter and egg.
  • 3 add in buttermilk powder.
  • 4 in another bowl mix flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • 5 alternate adding water and flour mixture to butter mixture until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • 6 mix 1/3 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of cinnamon - this will give you approximately 7 1/2 tablespoon overall.
  • 7 pour 1/3 of the batter in a 9 x 5 bread pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spay.
  • 8 sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cinnamon mixture over batter.
  • 9 repeat steps 7 & 8 two more times, but use the all remaining cinnamon on top of bread.
  • 10 sprinkle pecans on top of cinnamon mixture & lightly press into batter.
  • 11 spray top of bread with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 12 bake for 45 - 50 minutes or until tooth pick inserted into center of bread comes out clean.
