Cinnamon Apple Salad

Total Time: 2 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/2 cup red-hot candies
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 ounces lemon gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped apples
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 13 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 combine cinnamon candies and water in saucepan.
  • 2 cook for 5 minutes or until candies dissolve, stirring frequently.
  • 3 add gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  • 4 cool to room temperature.
  • 5 add lemon juice.
  • 6 chill until partially set.
  • 7 fold in walnuts and apples.
  • 8 spoon 1/2 of the mixture into 8x8" dish.
  • 9 chill until set.
  • 10 combine cream cheese, cream and salt in bowl and mix well.
  • 11 spoon evenly over congealed layer.
  • 12 spread remaining gelatin mixture carefully over the top --
  • 13 chill until set --
  • 14 cut into squares and serve on salad greens.
