Banana Sauce

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 firm bananas, sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • 2 add the bananas to the hot butter.
  • 3 let cook for about 2 minutes.
  • 4 add the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • 5 cook over medium heat until the sugar begins to caramelize, about 2 to 3 minutes. add the vanilla.
  • 6 add pecans just before serving.
  • 7 serve warm or at room temperature.
  • 8 makes about 1 1/2 cups.
