Ann's Amish Cinnamon Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 cream together the butter, 2 cups of sugar and eggs.
  • 2 add milk, flour and baking soda.
  • 3 butter and flour 2 loaf pans.
  • 4 pour 1/4 of the batter into each loaf pan.
  • 5 mix the cinnamon and 2/3 cup of sugar together.
  • 6 sprinkle 1/4 of the cinnamon mixture on top of the batter.
  • 7 add the remaining batter to each of the pans.
  • 8 add the remaining sugar mixture to the top of the batter mixture.
  • 9 swirl the batter in each pan with a knife.
  • 10 bake at 350 f for 50 - 60 minutes, checking with a toothpick or knife towards the end to come out clean.
  • 11 cool 20 minutes in pan - if you can wait that long!
