Cider Apple Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 6 large apples, pared, cored and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 2 pie crusts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425.
  • 2 bring cider to boil.
  • 3 cook over medium heat 25 minutes.
  • 4 stir apples in cider.
  • 5 boil 5 minutes or until apples begin to soften.
  • 6 remove from heat.
  • 7 stir in sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and caraway seed.
  • 8 pour mixture into pie shell.
  • 9 with second pie crust cut our lattice strips.
  • 10 arrange lettice on top.
  • 11 bake 20 minutes or until pastry is browned.
