Cinnamon Brownies

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1 1/2-2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 2 2/3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted butter.
- 2 add boiling water, stirring until thickened.
- 3 stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla, and remaining butter.
- 4 add flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- 5 fold in the chocolate chips.
- 6 pour into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
- 7 bake at 350°f for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- 8 for frosting: cream butter in a mixing bowl.
- 9 combine cocoa, sugar, and cinnamon; add alternately with the milk.
- 10 beat to a spreading consistency; add vanilla.
- 11 add more milk if necessary.
- 12 spread over brownies.
