Amish Bread Pudding

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups dry bread
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pint cream or 1 pint milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Recipe

  • 1 soak torn bread in cream.
  • 2 add sugar and butter, beaten eggs, cinnamon, salt and vanilla, stirring to blend.
  • 3 put into a buttered baking dish.
  • 4 may add a little chopped citron, chopped raisins or dates if you wish.
  • 5 bake approximately 40 minutes in a 375 oven.
