Cinnamon Chocolate Sherbet

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 pinches nutmeg
- 2 cups water
- 24 fluid ounces evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
Recipe
- 1 in saucepan, mix cocoa, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- 2 whisk in the water; bring to a boil.
- 3 continue whisking to break up lumps and prevent burning.
- 4 reduce heat and simmer 2-3 minutes, until sugar is completely dissolved.
- 5 remove from heat add the milk and vanilla; let cool.
- 6 when the mixture reaches room temperature, pour in ice-cream maker.
- 7 freeze according to directions (if firmer texture is desired, remove from freezer, put in a dish, cover and freeze longer).
