Amish Molasses Nut Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup crisco
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375*.
- 2 in large bowl, cream crisco and sugar, then edd the eggs, molasses and vanilla and mix well.
- 3 in a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and ginger.
- 4 and then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour milk.stir in the nuts.
- 5 drop batter onto greased sheets, by tspful spaced 2" apart -- and bake for 30 minutes.until golden around the edges.
- 6 allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on sheets before removing to rack to cool completely -- .
