Chicken With Seven Spices

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (2 1/2-3 lb) chicken (whole)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375.
  • 2 remove chicken skin. rinse chicken and pat dry. remove giblets and neck.
  • 3 lightly spray the inside of a roasting back with nonstick cooking spray. place chicken, breast side up, in the plastic oven bag in a shallow roasting pan.
  • 4 in a small bowl, stir together remaining ingredients. rub this mixture evenly over chicken.
  • 5 tie the oven bag closed.
  • 6 roast in oven 1 to 1 1/4 hours, or until chicken is tender and no longer pink.
