Caramel Crunch Apple Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 9-inch pie shell
  • 24 caramels (one-half of a 14-ounce package)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 cups apples, sliced and peeled
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 roll pastry to a 12-inch circle on lightly floured surface.
  • 3 place in a 9-inch pie plate.
  • 4 turn under edge; flute.
  • 5 melt caramels with water in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • 6 spoon apples into crust; top with caramel sauce.
  • 7 mix flour, sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture.

  • 10 sprinkle over apples.
  • 11 bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
