Cinnamon Biscuits

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup butter (at room temperature)
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 mix the butter + icing sugar with the whisk till you get creamy pale mixture.
  • 2 add the eggs and go on whisking till they blend well.
  • 3 sift the flour +baking powder +salt+cinnamon.
  • 4 add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix with your hands till you have a homogenous dough.
  • 5 spread the dough between two plastic sheets or baking sheets, and put that spreaded dough as it is -between the sheets- on a tray in the freezer for 10-15 min.
  • 6 heat the oven on 190 c or moderate.
  • 7 with your favourable cutter cut the shapes you want from the dough -notice how easy the quiet chilled dough will help in this step-.
  • 8 put your biscuits on a tray lightly spayed with oil, or use baking sheet
  • 9 make holes in half the number of the biscuits using suitable size cutter.
  • 10 put in the oven it will take 10-12 min just till the buttom has light golden color.
  • 11 cool on a wire rack.
  • 12 sprinkle the pieces with holes with icing sugar.
  • 13 put small amount of jam -goes best with apricot- on each whole piece.
  • 14 put the biscuits with holes on top of those with jam.
