Chicken Korma

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 lbs chicken
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • salt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup onion
  • 1 tablespoon gingerroot
  • 2 tablespoons garlic cloves
  • 2 serrano chilies
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 -3 cardamom pods
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken into inch pieces
  • 2 -3 whole cloves
  • 2 tablespoons ghee

Recipe

  • 1 using a food processor make a paste of the garlic, ginger and onion.
  • 2 add the paste to the rest of the ingredients except chicken and ghee.
  • 3 add marinade to chicken pieces.
  • 4 marinate overnight.
  • 5 heat ghee in deep skillet.
  • 6 add marinated chicken.
  • 7 cook over low heat until you see the oil and marinade separate and chicken is well cooked (30 min).
  • 8 serve hot.
  • 9 prep time does not include overnight marinating time.
