Basel Leckerli Swiss Honey Spice Cookie

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups honey
• 2 cups sugar
• 5 1/2 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon anise
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 tablespoon clove
• 2/3 cup citron, chopped
• 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
• 3 eggs
• 1/2 cup fruit juice
• 1 lemon
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Recipe

• 1 simmer the sugar and honey in a double boiler until melted; cool.
• 2 add the rest of ingredients except frosting.
• 3 mix.
• 4 spread in a thin sheet and bake until done.
• 5 frost with thin frosting made of lemon and powdered sugar as soon as cookies are baked.
