Buttered Rum-spiced Cider

Ingredients

- 6 cups apple cider
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup rum
Recipe
- 1 in a saucepan, add cider, cloves, nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and cinnamon sticks.
- 2 bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
- 3 strain mixture to remove cloves and cinnamon sticks.
- 4 in individual mugs (6 mugs total), place 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons rum.
- 5 fill each mug with hot cider; stir.
- 6 enjoy.
