Candied Winter Squash

Ingredients

- 2 -3 medium butternut squash or 2 -3 medium delicata squash or 2 -3 medium banana squash
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange rind
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Recipe
- 1 scrub squash, cut in half, and remove seeds.
- 2 place cut side up in a large roasting pan.
- 3 in a mixing bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients.
- 4 spoon mixture into squash halves.
- 5 cover squash with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- 6 spoon sugar mixture over squash, leave uncovered, and bake another 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.
