Buttermilk Nut Loaf

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- 2 in a large bowl, sift together baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.
- 3 add the whole-wheat flour and sift again.
- 4 add the brown sugar.
- 5 in another bowl, beat egg until light; mix in the buttermilk and melted butter.
- 6 add to dry mixture.
- 7 stir in the nuts.
- 8 pour into a buttered and lightly floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
- 9 bake for 1 hour.
