Cinnamon Honey Bars

Total Time: 28 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 18 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup honey, plus
  • 2 tablespoons honey, separated
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon hot water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350º.
  • 2 grease 15x10inch baking pan.
  • 3 in large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking soda.
  • 4 add oil, 1/4 cup honey and egg.
  • 5 stir until combined.
  • 6 stir in walnuts.
  • 7 press into prepared pan using waxed paper or hands.
  • 8 bake 18-20 minutes or till toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • 9 in small bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, hot water and remaining 2 tbsp honey.
  • 10 beat until smooth.
  • 11 spread over warm bars.
  • 12 cool completely before cutting into bars.
