Apple/apricot Sauce For Lamb

Total Time: 18 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 5 cooking apples, cored, peeled, chopped
  • 10 small dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 10 cloves
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 large star anise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 combine all ingredients in sauté pan, except lemon juice.
  • 2 bring to gentle boil.
  • 3 reduce heat to medium, cover, simmer until apples are soft (6-8 minutes).
  • 4 stir in lemon juice.
  • 5 let cool completely then remove cloves, cinnamon and star anise.
  • 6 serve with any lamb dish.
