Apple-spiced Rice

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple juice
  • 1 cup long grain rice, uncooked
  • 1 cup apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 inches long

Recipe

  • 1 combine water and apple juice in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
  • 2 stir in rice and remaining ingredients.
  • 3 cover and reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • 4 remove and discard cinnamon sticks.
