Cinnamon Ice Cream

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan over medium heat, stir together sugar and half and half.
  • 2 when mixture begins to simmer remove from heat and slowly whisk into eggs. (pour hot cream mixture slowly, but whisk quickly so that you don't end up with scrambled eggs!).
  • 3 pour mixture back into saucepan and stir in heavy cream.
  • 4 continue cooking over medium low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • 5 remove from heat and whisk in vanilla and cinnamon.
  • 6 let cool completely in refrigerator.
  • 7 when cooled pour mixture into ice cream maker and freeze according to your ice cream makers instructions.
