Buttermilk Drop Scones

Ingredients

- 2 cups flour
- 3 -4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1/2 cup golden raisins or 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 in a bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
- 3 cut in cold butter, until mixture has a consistancy of coarse meal.
- 4 add raisins (or cranberries).
- 5 in another bowl, beat together buttermilk and eggs.
- 6 stir in liquid ingredients into dry.
- 7 stir together to form a smooth dough (don't overbeat).
- 8 drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
- 9 bake 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
