Buttermilk Drop Scones

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 -4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins or 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs

Recipe

  • 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 in a bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • 3 cut in cold butter, until mixture has a consistancy of coarse meal.
  • 4 add raisins (or cranberries).
  • 5 in another bowl, beat together buttermilk and eggs.
  • 6 stir in liquid ingredients into dry.
  • 7 stir together to form a smooth dough (don't overbeat).
  • 8 drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
  • 9 bake 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
